(Please, give me really good answers. I am totally serious about this. If you do not like Harry Potter, please don't respond to this question. Thank You.)
Read the "Ultimate Unofficial Guide to the Mysteries of Harry Potter" series, it talks about all the tiny details that might be important and important details to watsh for like the numbers 7, 12 and 13, long fingers etc.
pay attention to detail. including the numbers and colors.
~~~ the number 7 is important. (ex. 7 books, 7 years, 7 weasleys, 7 stone obstacals,....etc.)
~~~the color purple
~~~the number 12
there are alot more. just read carefully.
By breaking down each chapter by characters and assigning
them placement and activity regarding momentum of plot.
Set up a chart similar to a genealogical one...like a family
tree. For instance: At the top of the tree start with Lilly
and James and Voldemort, then pull the lines down to
Harry, from Harry, pull lines down to Hermione, and Ron
and from these two you can have lines to all the Burrow
residents, etc. The things that you've missed in the previous
books can be inserted next to the names on this tree and
when you see the overview, they will fit easily into the plot.
This is hard to explain without a diagram, but has worked
for me many times with long and complicated plots. Hope
it helps.
I would do like I did for Russian novels. I made big note cards for each character and note cards for each scene. I managed to get 100% on the test for Crime and Punishment.
I bet you are doing this to see if you find clues to predict 7 before it happens. Good luck.
I love them. What i would do is every hmmm 10 pages review what you have read on a sheet of paper.
