There are many conflicts in Harry Potter, both external and internal
External:
-Harry is being raised in the Dursley household, with a pompous cousin bullying him, and the two proud, ignorant, and cruel parents who are his aunt and uncle
-Harry has conflicts with Snape and Malfoy at Hogwarts.
-Harry is seeking the truth, in such matters as his scar, the death of his parents, and the unexplained, unusual occurrences, such as the letters and owls at the Dursley home
-Keeping Voldemort from regaining power, and by doing so violating school rules, proof that Harry will go to any means to achieve his goal of the greater good.
Internal:
-The Mirror of Erised (desire spelled backwards) plays a pivotal role as the physical manifestation of Harry's great internal conflicts. The mirror show Harry's deepest desire: to be with his parents, but knows that this is an impossibility. Dumbledore warns him that "it is not wise to dwell on dreams and forget to live". This poses the great struggle for Harry: How does he eventually make that connection to the missing piece of his past in his otherwise dismal childhood without losing sight of what is important in the present and essential to the future( Voldemort, for example)?
Climax:
-The confrontation between Voldemort and Harry is the final climax, displaying Harry's greatest strength: love. Harry is able to defeat Voldemort, not by any spell that he learned, but by love. Voldemort can not bear such a great and terrible force, and disintegrates into the form of the weakest spirit.
Resolutions:
-Harry has some knowledge of who his parents and Voldemort were.
-Harry has friends who care for him and would sacrifice themselves for him (Ron in the Chess Room)
-Harry is able to see through the temptations of Voldemort, who almost persuaded Harry to give him the stone and have his parents back in return, Harry's greatest wish.
-The Philosopher's stone is destroyed, foiling and further attempts by Voldemort to return to his original self through the stone's powers.
-Harry now realizes that Voldemort's greatest weakness is love.
-Harry defeats Voldemort( for the time being)
Conflicts:
-living with horrible relatives and being an outcast/misfit
-dealing with being an orphan
-protecting the Sorcerer's Stone
-learning to be a wizard, and getting used to the wizarding world
Climax:
-Harry's confrontation with Voldemort
Resolution:
-Harry has friends
-He "defeats" Voldemort
-The sorcerer's stone is destroyed
Here is a VERY basic outline
Conflicts - Harry has numerous conflicts, youve got him and malfoy fighting, quiditch matches, internal conflict would be loss of parents, conflict with snape, fights voldemort at end
Resolution, harry keeps voldemort from getting stone
climax is the fight between harry and voldemort
The main conflict for the book would probably be keeping Voldemort from regaining his power
The climax would be when Harry finally reaches the stone
The resolution is Voldemort is defeated (for now anyways)
