they swapped the actual 'harry potter' feel for humor. i wish all movies could have just been like the 1st movie. it was so geniune, now it's all fluff.
I think the opposite is the case. The actors can actually act now and I like the fifth best so far, because of all the artsy stuff and the way they put a huge book into a pretty decent film. That was the hardest screenplay to write and I am impressed how they did it.
The first ones where too cheesy for me and even though they were closer to the books, it seemed like a bad comic version to me.
I suppose it all depends on what you look for in Harry Potter. Quite a few people enjoyed the later movies, if only for their increased sense of angst and teen depression. They were 'darker' than the earlier movies, which imbued a sense of childhood - they contained every child's dreams when it came to the book. But things happen - the original Dumbledore's death for example (he was much better than the current.)
Also, Warner Bros. probably wanted the movies to appeal to a wider range of audiences. Besides, you can't expect them to 'tone down' the later books, because that's how they were written.
I found that a lot of the things that were cut shouldn't have been, while maintaining that some of what they KEPT could have been cut. But overall, the movies aren't complete failures.
they lost it after the second movie. They began to make it all dark and stuff, which makes me more gothic. The first two movies, the settings were bright and stuff. Movies after that, they made it so hard to watch because it's all dark and you can't see ****. Also, the first two movies' dvd box are cool They made them open like a book. The following movies are just simple dvd box like any regular movies.
Basically sequels never are as good as the first one.
One very good example is Shrek..
1, was epic,funny,good plot..
2, it was okay just that it had it's cheesy moments..and it's still a litte funny, like when prince charming puts on the Burger King crown
3, sucked and bad plot twists.
Spider man on the other hand, is diffrent.
1, good..like any other movie that doesnt have anything cheesy.Great origin plot.
2. My favorite, good drama, great villain..
3. Cheesy.. its okay, i liked it to be honest.. but no better than 1 and 2..
In Star wars, all the movies where good but episode 1 was cheesy.
I do agree, Harry Potter did started to suck after 3
But i mean when you see the first one compared to the last one..
it's like the last one is a remake..
Classic defeats tech.
Yeah. You can't blame them though... because the book written by JK Rowling is longer and lengthier than the first volume, so they have to cut down and rush a lot of things to finish the movie in just two and half hour.
which is why i don't like the movie after third (yeah istill like third XD) it's progressing too fast.
But lucky they are breaking the last book into two parts movie. ^^
Hmm, I have to disagree with you; sorry! Harry Potter gets more dark and ghastly, and therefore the characters have to look on the brightside. I didn't see any laughing when cedric died, or sirius. I think they're staying true to the books; JKR is on set a lot of the time, giving the director tips.
I think they did an okay job on the 3rd. The 4th was pretty good. But the 5th. I wanted to write the directors a long list of my complaints. It was supposed to be Ron's big year in quiditch but they completely blew it by not even including it. I hope they make the 6th movie better. If not I WILL complain to the directors.
I like how they each portray (or atleast try to portray) the general feel of the book. I thought GoF was perfect. I didn't like OotP at all. And I hated PoA. But other than that I feel WB has at least made an effort in the movies.
I love the first 2 movies. They really stayed true to the books. But I didnt like the third. It felt too rushed.
Theres no way they can ever do justice to the books, but I think they are getting better. Half blood Prince looks amazing!
Nope.
I thought the third, fourth and fifth movies were better becasue they were darker and less about being a 'kids film'.
The first two were basically 'Home Alone' in a castle.
Well it got more confusing with all that stuff about those crazy monsters and spells
no- you got it all wrong- thats when they started to get good! the 2nd and 3rd ones sucked- 1st 4th and 5th were the best!
They just can't cram all the events into an hour or two..
i feel the same way. they dont make as gud movies of harry potter
not me i loved the fouth one and especially the fifth
no
