How do I make A good Auror Costume From the Harry Potter series ?

Me and some friends want to dress as a group of generic Aurors from the Harry Potter books, for the two big premiers next month (book and Movie). Not any particularly known character's from the series, but just sort of random Ministry of Magic employees. We really want the right look and feel for the costumes, and to be able to stand out among all the people who go dressed in School Robes. Anyone done this before ?

idk. wait for the movie to come out and then see what tonks and some other aurors are dressed in in the order

That's pretty difficult since Aurors are wizards anyway, so wearing a robe would pretty signify you have magical powers. It wouldn't look so specific as to be considered an Auror. What you should try doing is picking specific characters from the book that are Aurors, and that way the HP fans (myself included) will be able to figure out quite quickly that your group has dressed up as an Auror team. Now if you were trying to be Animagus, that'd be a different story.. which would require much fur... :0).

Aurors would dress like any other wizards. Try dressing as Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody!
