I have a great condition first edition of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, I've heard first editions are worth something, is that true?
First edition Harry Potter books that are valuable........
The Philosophers stone.
The Chamber of Secrets.
The Prisoner of Azkaban.
These books had a fairly limited run and therefore are harder to find.
No, only if they are rare - the later HP books were printed in their millions for their first editions. However a first edition of HP and the Philosopher's Stone would be worth a lot!
Not really the later potter books as millions were printed but a mint condition first edition of the first Harry potter book is worth thousands!
In a few years, maybe.
However, there were so many published that you will be lucky if your book is even worth what is printed on the cover, after all it is second hand, and still available in the shops.
If there had been some printing error in the book you have, perhaps it might be worth something, but it is usual to recall books with printing errors and replace, plus, there again, it would be yours and several other thousands,if not millions.
I do have a first edition of a book recently published that has printing omissions, the printer would replace it, or you can get a download of the omissions. I've opted for keeping it, as most people would return their book for a replacement.)
dunno but if anybody knows id be interested cos i have the very 1st copy which also has the typing errors which were later recalled, i kept mine and its in mint condition
I saw a first edition HP book - I think it might have been GoF but I can't really remember.... Anyway it was being sold for £50 or £60.
The prices might be less in America though because the book was originally British.
£1000
