How can I get harry potter candy besides online?

I want some of the harry potter themed candy but my rents won't let me get them online.Is there any place (within reasonable distance) that I can get the candy I want?


Some Barnes & Noble bookstores sell them, but I bought my "Acid Pops" at Wal Mart. They may only be big around the time the movie is released.

Walden Books always has them in North Texas!

Does anyone know if Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was translated into Latin?

My friend wants Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in Latin for her birthday. I've been able to find one and two, but I cannot find three anywhere. Any ideas?


I'm not sure where you can find it available to purchase, but according to Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Potter_in_translation#List_of_authorised_translations_by_language ), the Harry Potter series has been authorized to translate into Latin. Then again, some of the translations are slow in being released, so perhaps it hasn't come out yet.

Yes it's definitely in Latin. All the books have been translated into over 60 different languages and Latin is one of them. I'm sure it's available for purchase somewhere. Did you try amazon.com?? or Ebay?

I have been told that Bloomsbury Publishing has no plans to translate the series into Latin beyond the first two books.

NB: The information is second hand. Also, if people make their voices heard, perhaps the plan would change?

What Harry Potter house should i be in, i need to find out so i can make a robe!??!?

I'm planning on buying or makeing an authentic harry potter robe for the 7th book release so i could wear it to the midnight party. but i am having dilemas on which house to make it of. Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. I don't want to do Gryfindor because i don't think i would be in that house. Also i don't think i would be in Slytherin either. I took a quiz and it said i should be in Hufflepuff with a close second being Ravenclaw.

I had always thought myself to be in Ravenclaw because i love to read and i would consider myself to be pretty smart, so i had always thought ravenclaw. but maybe i should be in Hufflepuff.

If anyone has any good quizes i could take to see what house i'm in that would be great. Also, would it be better to buy a robe rather than make it? and if so what are some good internet sites to buy them at.

If you think you should be in Ravenclaw, then you probably should. Hufflepuff is kind of the leftover house for those that are kind, but don't really fit in anywhere else. If you like to read and are smart, then that sounds like Ravenclaw. Plus, that's what you think, which is the most important factor.

Well, a simple way is to figure out which of the houses' primary virtues comes closest to describing you:

Gryffindor - courage

Slytherin - ambition (which isn't **necessarily** evil)

Ravenclaw - intellect

Hufflepuff - loyalty

if your kind of smart then you should be in Ravenclaw...

Try doing a search on Quizilla.com, or i believe if you go to Harry Potter.com, there is a virtual sorting ht there, you have to answer questions for it.

the boxed set of harry potter comprises the first five volumes and has a list price of £33 (though you can certainly get it for £25 from discount outlets such as tesco.

you would need to buy the sixth volume - harry potter and the half-blood prince - separately. this has a list price of £17 (hardback) - though again large sellers will sell it to you for £13 or so.

How do I make A good Auror Costume From the Harry Potter series ?

Me and some friends want to dress as a group of generic Aurors from the Harry Potter books, for the two big premiers next month (book and Movie). Not any particularly known character's from the series, but just sort of random Ministry of Magic employees. We really want the right look and feel for the costumes, and to be able to stand out among all the people who go dressed in School Robes. Anyone done this before ?

That's pretty difficult since Aurors are wizards anyway, so wearing a robe would pretty signify you have magical powers. It wouldn't look so specific as to be considered an Auror. What you should try doing is picking specific characters from the book that are Aurors, and that way the HP fans (myself included) will be able to figure out quite quickly that your group has dressed up as an Auror team. Now if you were trying to be Animagus, that'd be a different story.. which would require much fur... :0).

Aurors would dress like any other wizards. Try dressing as Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody!

How do you identify a first edition Harry Potter book?

I have a paperback copy of 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' with the numbers '10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1' on the inside cover. I'm trying to identify if this is a first edition - can anyone help? Thanks


In this case the first edition refers to the original hardback.. It will either have 'first edition' printed on the back of the title page or the list of numbers printed will end with a 1. It would appear that your book is a first edition of the paper back version, which isn't quite the same thing.

You open the book to the page where copyright information is printed. That page is usually one of the first 3 pages in any book, and is printed on the left hand side. It will be full of information in small font, about the publisher, and author and copyright and such.

One of the pieces of information will be the edition. For example, I'm looking at a random book now (not HP). It says "First Simon & Schuster paperback edition 2005"

So first of all, if it's a paperback, it will not be a first edition for sure. Paperbacks are usually printed last. You need to know a year the very first HP was printed, and if you have a hardback book that says first edition + that year, then you've found it.

First editions refer to the limited runs of initial hardback copies. I think there were only abount 500 hardback copies in the first run of the first HP book. They are worth a stack nowadays....

No, only if they are rare - the later HP books were printed in their millions for their first editions. However a first edition of HP and the Philosopher's Stone would be worth a lot!

Not really the later potter books as millions were printed but a mint condition first edition of the first Harry potter book is worth thousands!

However, there were so many published that you will be lucky if your book is even worth what is printed on the cover, after all it is second hand, and still available in the shops.

If there had been some printing error in the book you have, perhaps it might be worth something, but it is usual to recall books with printing errors and replace, plus, there again, it would be yours and several other thousands,if not millions.

I do have a first edition of a book recently published that has printing omissions, the printer would replace it, or you can get a download of the omissions. I've opted for keeping it, as most people would return their book for a replacement.)

How to find the serial code for harry potter and the order of the phoenix?

So I was shopping at a garage sale a few weeks ago and came across the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix game. It was not in its original case, just a plain jewel case, however it looked unscratched so I bought it. When I took it home, excited to play, it asked me for the serial number. Obviously, without the main case or manual, I can't find the serial code. Is there some way to find it with just the disc?

How to pass the Herbology test in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix?

I'm having some trouble with the Herbology test in the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix game for Wii. (The minigame where you have to repot the Mandrakes) I've moved them all to the new pots in rounds 1, 2, and 3 without trouble, but when Professor Sprout calls for the end, I find out I failed. Is there some trick to this that I'm not getting, or am I just not performing fast enough? Does it matter which pot you put the Mandrake in? If you've finished this, please let me know!
