The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 is the film all Harry Potter fans have waited 10 years to see, and the good news is that it's worth the hype--visually stunning, action packed, faithful to the book, and mature not just in its themes and emotion but in the acting by its cast, some of whom had spent half their lives making Harry Potter movies. Part 2 cuts right to the chase: Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) has stolen the Elder Wand, one of the three objects required to give someone power over death (a.k.a. the Deathly Hallows), with the intent to hunt and kill Harry. Meanwhile, Harry's quest to destroy the rest of the Horcruxes (each containing a bit of Voldemort's soul) leads him first to a thrilling (and hilarious--love that Polyjuice Potion!) trip to Gringotts Bank, then back to Hogwarts, where a spectacular battle pitting the young students and professors (a showcase of the British thesps who have stolen every scene of the series: Maggie Smith's McGonagall, Jim Broadbent's Slughorn, David Thewlis's Lupin) against a dark army of Dementors, ogres, and Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter, with far less crazy eyes to make this round). As predicted all throughout the saga, Harry also has his final showdown with Voldemort--neither can live while the other survives--though the physics of that predicament might need a set of crib notes to explain. But while each installment has become progressively grimmer, this finale is the most balanced between light and dark (the dark is quite dark--several familiar characters die, with one significant death particularly grisly); the humor is sprinkled in at the most welcome times, thanks to the deft adaptation by Steve Kloves (who scribed all but one of the films from J.K. Rowling's books) and direction by four-time Potter director David Yates. The climactic kiss between Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson), capping off a decade of romantic tension, is perfectly tuned to their idiosyncratic relationship, and Daniel Radcliffe has, over the last decade, certainly proven he was the right kid for the job all along. As Prof. Snape, the most perfect of casting choices in the best-cast franchise of all time, Alan Rickman breaks your heart. Only the epilogue (and the lack of chemistry between Harry and love Ginny Weasley, barely present here) stand a little shaky, but no matter: the most lucrative franchise in movie history to date has just reached its conclusion, and it's done so without losing its soul. --Ellen A. Well for me, I think there is no think for comparison for the two series has its own dissimilar types of genre, themes, settings and concept.

Harry Potter series as we all know is categorized as a children's books but for me the book is for all ages. It is more of an adventure than of a love story. Although it is concentrated on the main character which is Harry Potter and we see the story from the character's points of view, it also shows some scenes from the other characters points of view and sometimes scenes that doesn't contain Harry Potter himself which oftentimes happens at the first episode of the book. The book tackles about the lives, struggles and adventures of Harry Potter. Most of the settings in the story (except book 7) are inside the Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry.

Twilight saga is categorized as suspense thriller and love story. I think it is more of a love story than of an adventure. The story revolves on one of the main characters which is Isabella Swan and we hear the story all the time from that characters point of view although there is an irregularity in the last episode of book 2 and the second part of book 4 which is I think for some confident reason, when Bella was bed ridden, the author cannot write much about her since Bella is just stationed in one place. The book tackles about the love story of two very dissimilar people and the conflicts that it includes. Most of the settings are inside the whole town of Forks and only a few scenes happen inside the school.

Within his mind he holds a key secret in the battle to defeat the Dark Lord, and Harry is tasked by Dumbledore to uncover a memory about Voldemort's darkest weapon--the Horcrux. Despite the long list of distractions, Harry, Ron (Rupert Grint), and Hermione (Emma Watson) still try to focus on being teenagers, and audiences will enjoy the budding awkward romances. All of the actors have developed nicely, giving their most convincing performances to date.

More dramatic and significant things go down in this movie than any of its predecessors, and the stakes are higher than ever. The creators have been tasked with a practically impossible challenge, as fans of the beloved J.K. Rowling book series desperately want the movies to capture the magic of the books as closely as possible. Alas, the point at which one accepts that these two mediums are very different is the point at which one can truly enjoy these brilliant adaptations. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is no exception: it may be the best film yet. For those who have not read the book, nail-biting entertainment is guaranteed. For those who have, the movie does it justice. The key dramatic scenes, including the cave and the shocking twist in the final chapter, are executed very well. But for me the two authors are both excellent writers in their own field. They give justice to their characters and they can as a matter of fact work on your emotions while reading their books. They make you feel like you are the character in that book and you're experiencing the same situations because you can as a matter of fact feel the intensity of their emotions. They give every singular thread of details that even you can't present what its like.

So if you're a kind of reader who likes more of an adventure, then I think you will like Harry Potter series better. And if you are more type of a romance reader who likes more of a love story, then, you will like the Twilight saga better.

So I think it's unfair to collate these two book series and please stop production fuss about it, okay, both the book series are gorgeous and are as a matter of fact fun to read.

Alas! The fifth Harry Potter film has arrived. The time is long past that this can be considered a simple "children's" series--though children and adults alike will enjoy it immensely. The Lego game idea has spanned three beloved franchises in the past: Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Batman. Now a fourth has been added to the list in the form of the Boy Who Lived. Jk Rowling's creation, Harry Potter, has been given the little plastic block treatment, and the follow is a game that is fun, fresh and very addictive.

The Lego games have always been fun, thanks to their excellent recreation of the field matter on which they are based, as well as the irreverent attitude they take to that field matter. But, aside from characters and settings, there precisely hasn't been much of a unlikeness between them. We've been to Tatooine and the Amazon with these games, but the unabridged dynamic hasn't changed much in any of the former versions. You can read that someone else way, of course... The game-play was getting old.

It seems that developers Travellers Tales were well aware of the problem, because Lego Harry Potter: Years 1 - 4 brings a very distinct feel with it. Sure, it's still a Lego game, and the basic ideas are the same, but additions and tweaks to these ideas have made a weighty unlikeness to the unabridged palpate that it offers.

The distinct change is that the game has a distinct setting. Now the player will be able to eye a Lego version of Hogwarts, which is a sprawling environment that allows the player a lot of freedom. The magic school has been recreated from the films, and events that play out in the game are based on the movies, rather than the books (hardly surprising when you reconsider that the game is published by Warner Bros, the same business that did the films). There is a lot to do in Hogwarts, from collecting studs (which is tasteless to all the games, and serves as currency in this title) through to gathering Hogwarts crests and more. The free roaming that the game allows implies (as do the myriad items that propose interactions later on) that the player will be revisiting areas time and again to way things they couldn't get to before. This is a wonderful concept, but it also adds a bit of trudging to the game.

The player will be able to make use of 167 unlockable characters through the policy of the game, and will be able to learn new spells and abilities as they go through the various chapters in the game. That's where going back to redo things comes in. Take, for example, polyjuice potion. Studying to use this potion will allow the player to change characters at favorably placed cauldrons. Need to get through a door that will only allow Hufflepuff house students access? No problem... Simply use polyjuice to assume the form of a Hufflepuff character. The catch is that you may come over such a door in the first chapter, but you'll only learn the skill in the second. I am sure you see what I am getting at.

It's great fun, and the use of distinct magic spells allows the player to interact with the world of a Lego game like never before. Wingardium Leviosa, for example, will enable the player to design individual Lego blocks to solve puzzles. Previously, construction was kind of automated, and while there still is automatic construction this time around, the puzzles add a new dimension to the game.

The game also features a drop-in / drop-out multiplayer, which is brilliantly handled this time around. Players can play through all four chapters together (which cover The Philosopher's Stone, The chamber of Secrets, The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Goblet of Fire) thanks to an intuitive split screen implementation that only splits the screen when necessary. This is one of the best implementations of split screen we have ever seen.

The game doesn't highlight too many boss battles, and vehicle sections are mercifully kept to a minimum (because they were nasty in other Lego titles). On the whole, the game is a beautifully presented, fairly forgiving title that shines above a few of the former Lego games. It's great fun for the whole family, and well worth playing, offering tons to do and lots of humour for those customary with the Harry Potter stories.

We have seen the first Harry Potter movie, "The Sorcerers Stone". It was a discontentment in that it stole our imagination, and forever more when we read the books, we see the Harry from the movie, the Snape from the movie , the Hogwarts from the movie, and so on. We can't recall the others from our imagination, pre-movie!!

The traditional Harry Potter movie resembled the book as closely as possible. They did an wonderful job, but regardless, the scene with the unicorn in the woods and Voldemort floating above with blood dripping from his mouth, burned a horrifying foresight on my daughter's memory. The book never affected her in a negative way, but the optic seared a clear and chronic image. This leads me to the issue of movie ratings. Who in their right mind comes up with these G ratings? Are they insane or just childless? The only other explanation is that they are completely desensitized to the optic violence and terrific images.

Why are they so desperate to have every child see these movies? Couldn't it be something for the younger children to look transmit to with great anticipation, for when they get older? My son is seven and only just recently watched the first Harry Potter movie after completing the book. The book was an absolute prerequisite to the movie. He was prepared for most of what was arrival , but even then we fast forwarded the scarier bits.

I know some will think me paranoid and over protective, which is fine with me. I know my children can sleep at night with the lights off and not have nightmares. I will reiterate what I said at the beginning, I love movies, all movies, but I think parents have to be choosy, even if it goes against the norm, and stand up to that adult peer pressure and do what is right for their child.

The movie ratings are not devised with a child's best interest at heart. The traditional motivation is to get as many to see the movie as speedily as possible, and put as much money as inherent into the pockets of the associates involved. I have friends who won't even let their children read the Harry Potter series. That is going a slight too far for me, but the movie manufactures should be held socially responsible for the degree of realism in the content, and it is up to the parents to question it. We will finally see the whole series of Harry Potter movies, but in our own good time, and when each child is emotional ready.

Joanne Rowling best known as the inventor of Harry Potter was born on 31st July, 1965 in Yate, Gloucestershire, England. She has a sister, two years younger to her, Dianne. She studied traditional school at St. Michaels. It is said that the head scholar at school was the inspiration for the Harry Potter headmaster, Albus Sumbledore. Even when she was five years old she told stories to her younger sister about rabbit and bees.

Her secondary education took place at Wyedean School and college. She had a flair for literature. After graduating from Wyedean she attended Exeter University and studied French, to take up a occupation as a bilingual secretary. But secretary ship was the last thing she wanted to do.

By the time she was 26 she had suffered the shock of her mother's demise from multiple sclerosis after suffering for about ten years. She then moved to Portugal and taught English. Here she started working on a story about a wizard; she recalls that the idea of a fantasy series came to her while she was on a train journey from Manchester to London.

She married a journalist, and after the birth of her daughter within a year her marriage ended in a divorce. She moved on to Scotland, Edinburg along with her daughter.

From now on she was determined to get the Harry Potter wizard novel closed and published. She applied for and received a grant from the Scottish Arts Council to unblemished her novel. Finally when her novel was completed on an old hand-operated typewriter, she sold the proprietary to Bloomsbury U.K. For about 00. Ms. Rowling's happiest occasion came when A Levine books/scholastics press bought the American proprietary to the first Harry potter novel. She could now speak herself and her daughter and write full time.

Recognition came very soon for Ms. Rowling and Harry potter. The first book "Harry potter and the Philosophers stone" won the British book Awards for Children's book of the year and the Nestle smarties book prize. In the U.S the same book was renamed "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone".

The sequels came one after another. In 1998 came "Harry Potter and the accommodation of secrets." A year later came "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban". These three books only made Ms. Rowling a household name. The series topped the top three slots in the Newyork time best sellers list in the U.S.A and U.K.

The fourth book 'Harry potter and the Goblet of fire" came in 2000 and was a record breaker in sales in both the countries

Three years passed and then came the fifth book "Harry potter and the order of the Phoenix". This book was again a record breaker.

The sixth book "Harry potter and the half blood Prince" too broke all sales record in the 2005.

The title of the seventh and final book of the series was released in 2006, "Harry potter and the deadly hallows". The book was release in 2007. It was sold out and a huge success.

She was filmed for a documentary which was aired in Britain on Itv. It was titled "J.K.Rowling... A year in the life". Her books have inspired an interest in reading among children at a time when they prefer Television and computer to books. Critics' are of the conception that the impacts of these books on the children need to be evaluated.

All the books in the series have been filmed and have been a huge success with the audiences of all ages. She has married Neil Michael Murray in 2001 and has two children from this marriage. She has plans to continue writing and a book titled "Political fairy tale for children" is nearing completion.

She has established the volant charitable trust to combat Poverty, public inequalities, one parent families and multiple sclerosis research.

But up until now, not such a big fan of the movies, though I did enjoy a few of them with the irregularity of Prisoner. That was just poorly done...period. But what about the newest installment? They took one book and broke it up into two movies. Did they do the right thing? Or could they have come up with someone else epic like Gone With The Wind or Lord Of The Rings? This author is going to give his two cents on the issue.

Let me first say, without giving anyone away, that if they did have to break this movie up into two parts, they couldn't have picked a best place to end it. So kudos to them for that much. But here's the qoute I had with Deathly Hollows, and I think it comes down to Hollywood essentially feeling that it has to milk everything it can out of a franchise.

While the movie, for the most part, was very intense from start to finish, with some great activity scenes, there was way too much filler time. A lot of the sitting nearby and brooding about how miserable life is could have been cut. I could surely see 10 minutes of that movie that could have been left on the cutting room floor. But then, if they had done that, it wouldn't have been long sufficient of a movie to explicate soaking me out of my per ticket. What happened to the good old days when a movie cost .50?

But the bigger issue is, and this is something that my daughter brought up, Hollywood just doesn't feel like people have the attention span to sit straight through a four hour movie anymore. Maybe they're right. Have we reached the point where, if Gone With The Wind or The Ten Commandments had come out now, we would have walked out midway straight through the movie? I'd like to think not. But with Hollywood coming out with its "no more than 2.5 hours of screen time or we'll lose 'em" installments, you have to wonder if we're ever going to get an 800 page book put into one movie again without losing half the plot.

Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed the movie, minus about 10 minutes of sitting nearby doing nothing. But I for real would have loved to have seen the way it for real ends without having to wait until next year to do so.

See, some of us Can sit straight through a four hour movie.

Bake the cupcakes ahead of time and make sure they have fullness of time to cool. Try and find some fun Harry Potter baking cups. Set out your array of decorations on the table as well as different colors of frosting. Let the kids have fun decorating their own cupcakes. Have some pre-decorated cupcakes in the middle of the table so the kids will have some inspiration.

Norberts Snot

This easy formula is a great way for the kids to enjoy some kool-aid with a twist. I've made it two ways and either way is great.

All you'll need is some koolaid and dry ice. Serve them in a cauldron or a large gold goblet. The other way I serve it is with soda and green sherbet. The kids seem to enjoy the floating snot like ice cream.

Anyway you pick to combine the theme into the food will make the party a bigger hit with children.

Games - I always struggle with this portion. I want to play games that the kids haven't played before and that will keep their attention. Harry Potter is a great theme to combine into games. Here are a few I've tried with success.

Spell Bound

This game is a great way for the kids to observe their creativity and make up fun words. Show a clip from one of the movies, I like one of the early ones when they are learning spells. Then help prompt them to come up with their own spells and powers. They can use their magic wands to cast spells at each other.

Sorting Hat

Kids love customary games of tag and I like reinventing them. Find an old hat that looks similar to the sorting hat and have the kids sit under it. Pretend like the sorting hat is dividing the kids up and throw your own magic twist on it. Once the kids have been sorted let the games begin. You could have a relay where they had to cast spells to get colse to objects or a game of frost tag using their created spells.

I hope some of these ideas will help you when creating your Harry Potter themed party. Above whatever else make sure everyone has a good time including yourself.

It's the Final Book, folks! After ten years, we ultimately come to the grand extravaganza that is The Deathly Hallows by J.K Rowling and boy! was it a ride and then some. Harry is now set to hunt for the Horcruxes and goes with his best friends Ron and Hermione. However, the sudden knowledge of something called 'The Deathly Hallows' causes our hero to re-think Dumbledore's plans on defeating Voldermort. But hold on! What's this about Dumbledore not being all that he's claimed to be? There's a new book out that purports our beloved headmaster as a man with a lot of secrets. Not only that, Professor Snape has even more of a back-story that's bound to shock the reader. In the end, the great battle is fought, all our beloved characters make their return - lives are lost, new ones begin and by the time you're through, you feel you've been there with these characters from the beginning!

I especially liked Harry's amelioration in this book. He's right on matured (even though there are moments of childish whims) but one can see that he has made an endeavor to come to be a better young man. I also liked his relationships with Ron and Hermione and a few other characters in the book. My absolute favorites were the final battle scenes. J.K Rowling did a remarkable job!

I didn't like the sudden deaths of Lupin, Tonks and Fred (well his death was thinkable, but it came as a shock to me all the same). I also didn't like the character amelioration of Ginny Weasley. Her characterization and mannerisms were quite unlike the Ginny we've come to know and seemed quite out of place. Also, the epilogue, I could have done without. I did not see the need for it, and even if J.K Rowling had to use it, I'm sure she could have written it in a much better way. It was quite confusing and made no sense to me as the sudden appearances of new characters created a chaotic finale.

However, I advise this book because it is a finale that was just about done right...there are a few questions that were still left, but J.K Rowling has promised an encyclopedia of sorts to sass them. That I have to pick up once it comes out.

Last but not least, with all the hoopla made about this, all things considered it was a good book and a good way to end things for Harry and his friends. I would have liked to see a few things changed around, but that's just me. right on a must read for all Potter fans who have grown up with him over the years!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I is a brooding, slower-paced film than its predecessors, the result of being just one half of the final story (the last book in the series was split into two movies, released in theaters eight months apart). Because the penultimate film is all buildup before the final showdown between the teen wizard and the evil Voldemort (which does not occur until The Deathly Hallows, Part II), Part I is a road-trip movie, a heist film, a lot of exposition, and more weight on its three young leads, who up until now were sufficiently supported by a revolving door of British thesps throughout the series. Now that all the action takes place outside Hogwarts--no more Potions classes, Gryffindor scarves, or Quidditch matches--Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), Emma Watson (Hermione), and Rupert Grint (Ron) shoulder the film almost entirely on their own. After a near-fatal ambush by Voldemort's Death Eaters, the three embark on a quest to find and destroy the remaining five horcruxes (objects that store pieces of Voldemort's soul). Fortunately, as the story gets more grave--and parents should be warned, there are some scenes too frightening or adult for young children--so does the intensity. David Yates, who directed the Harry Potter films Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince, drags the second half a little, but right along with some of the slower moments are some touching surprises (Harry leading Hermione in a dance, the return of Dobby in a totally non-annoying way). Jk Rowling or Joanne Kathleen Rowling was born in July 1965 at Yate general Hospital in England. She grew up in Chepstow Gwent where she went to Wyedean comprehensive. She left Chepstow when she went to Exeter University where earned a degree in French and Classics. A year of the procedure was spent in Paris. Once graduated she moved to London to work as a researcher at Amnesty International surrounded by other jobs but it wasn't until a delayed train journey from Manchester to Kings Cross where she starting writing the Harry Potter series. Years back while the summer of 2000 and in between semesters of college I worked at a summer camp in New Hampshire. When the mailman showed up on our campgrounds with a dissimilar vehicle, I knew that something was up. Instead of the customary white truck where the steering wheel is on the right side for easy passage to mailboxes, he showed up in a cargo van like the kind a plumber uses. Just as soon as he stopped, our camp director greeted him and so began helping him carry any armloads of packages. Since I wasn't busy at the moment, I walked over to see if I could help.

"Wow," I said. "There sure is a lot of mail today. What's the occasion?"

"It's the release of the new Harry Potter book," the director said. "Just about every camper asked their parents to send them a copy."

Why Jk Rowling's Harry Potter Series Isn't Just For Children

There must have been at least fifty hardbound copies of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" that day. A miniature while later, just about every camper in each age group had their noses in their books desperately trying to discharge as much as they could. I was amazed by the popularity of the books then, but didn't begin reading the book that was at the time, taking the literary world by storm.

It wasn't until the following year that I began reading the Harry Potter books--a girl I was seeing in college was heavily into to them and was constantly harassing me to try reading them. Safe to say, I gave it a shot and got at once hooked. Here's why:

The characters are so unique from one to the next and Harry, as you will learn, is just like every other boy out there--an "everyman" if you will.

The magic in the story is incredible. One example is the sport of Quidditch in which students of Hogwarts play a mix of hockey and soccer aboard broomsticks. There are also potions in which can make its user turn into a dissimilar man and the "Mirror of Erised" (which is 'Desire' spelled backwards) that shows you exactly what your heart desires among other things.

There are many themes prevalent in the story; such as irony, a battle between good and evil throughout, the ability to cope with death, the power of love and friendship which in reality, Harry's greatest strength rather than his knowledge and talents as a wizard.

Watching Harry Potter as he grows up and turn from a child to a young adult is to me at least amazingly accurate. The science of mind behind his thoughts is believable to the reader as he struggles between his desire to live as a general boy, yet is "marked" for death by his arch nemesis, the Lord Voldemort.

Aside from this, the most prevalent of theme in all the Harry Potter series is that it's pure fun for the reader. It is an absolute treat to read, even if you've seen the movies with or without your children. I extremely recommend the books to everyone, young or old. There are really themes within the series that parallel Greek Mythology as well. For instance, Professor Minerva McGonnagall in all fairness is really Athena, just as her name implies. But don't let me spoil all of it for you. After having read J.K. Rowling's books, you really won't regret it.

I have read comments about the cast of Twilight ... there are so many turned out to be online. I disagree with some of them and totally agree with most. Who would you choose?

I think that Rob Pattinson Edward Cullen is a good choice to play. I think not always. When I heard the casting. Twilight movie I do not think Rob was a good choice for the character of Edward Cullen. Not that I do not think Rob is a good actor. He is, and I liked hisPerformance as Cedric Diggory in the fourth Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I was not on his ability to adapt to a more mature role as the character of Edward ... Young persuaded to take, I was wrong. The first time I saw the movie Twilight, I realized it was the perfect choice. Be ', millions of fans of Twilight, Robert Pattinson Edward Cullen has become.

What about Bella? Do you think that Kristen Stewart is Bella? I know ... I can not imagine someone elsein this part but you. These two young actors have a lot of experience between them and both Kristen and Rob has acted his heart out ... they put up 100 percent in character, and then the film as popular as it is. The chemistry between them is wonderful. Chemistry can not be forged and this film is so great because these two were! I think the film was cast perfectly.

Catherine Hardwicke, director of the movie Twilight has been very responsible for casting and KristenRob. They actually found the grass used in the film, wanted to be perfect. It 's a bit of fear to think of New Moon Hardwick, without the direction of Catherine. "Harry Potter flourished with changes in the number of directors so lets hope the Twilight series is the same fate.

Return to the voices ... Kristen and Rob, I have seen in other shows, but I was not familiar with any of the other actors and actresses in the cast. Now I feel as if they were myFriends, at least I seem to know the characters are portrayed. All combined, gave us a great gift with the movie Twilight.
